Date: Nov 17 2004 Major: (This Major's Salary over time) I neither found SAIC to be a great nor poor school. It was highly disorganized and working with the infrastructure of the school was not much fun. I started out in the painting department and also did some video work and found the teachers and students there to generally be motivated, talented and refreshing. I later, for various reasons, switched to Visual Communications where for the most part I found the entire department to be dead and anything but motivated. It's like VisCom is where all the rejects end up. That's not entirely true, some of my VisCom teachers were incredible, and I was able to land a very nice Graphic Design job in the city and held onto it for 5 years.
I am now a software engineer (went back to school) and ultimately SAIC's not really having any real bearing on my life at all. But if I had it to do over again I'd still go to SAIC, so I guess that says something.
