Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
I attended as a part-time commuter from 1998 - 1992. During that time the average SAT score for incoming freshman was over 1200, prompting somone to pen the description "Harvard on the St. Johns river". Well, Harvard it isn't. The campus has alot of wetlands and greenscape, but the exterior of the buildings remind me of something out of mother Russia - grey concrete monoliths. The new construction is alot better - brick. The academics were VERY challenging (Computer Science). The professors knowledgable (except the liberal arts professors - never had real jobs). The student body is over 10,000 - with 95% commuters. It is not unusual to have students in their 30's and 40's along side someone 20. Their is no Greek row, no nearby entertainment area. Jacksonville is spreadout; best bets are the beaches, which are 15 minutes away. Overall a good experience if you come to study. If social life is #1, choose UF or FSU.
