UMASS...well it's OK if you're in state. But, if you (like me) come from outside New England, this school is one of the biggest rip offs ever. They fail to disclose how much you will be nickled and dimed here and the true affect of the state wide budget cuts. Basically, the campus is deteriorating, both physically and academically. The buildings are shit (so is the food) and the people are getting dumber and dumber. The school has to admit more people every year to make up for the fact that the school is recieving less and less money. Therefore, they are less seletive and let more idiots in than they should. The dorms are, small, noisy, dirty and very cramped. Some of the professors are great, bust most are terribly boring and hard to reach. On the positive side: there are may cool student groups, the town of Amherst is great, and there is a wide enough variety of classes here to intrest anyone. But, I cannot stress this enough : IF YOU ARE OUT OF STATE DO NOT COME HERE it is just not worth it anymore.
