Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
MICA is home to many of the most talented visual artists in the country. The painting department is especially strong, and the faculty are highly talented and well respected. Students - for the most part - are driven, hard-working and dedicated. Most studens are very friendly and are of a traditional college age (18-32). There are plently of social events such as on and off-campus parties, dances, coffeehouses, inter-mural sports, religious clubs, social clubs, etc... The only "negative" I can think of is the foundation program; I find it very frustrating, especially for students who are highly self-driven. Very little technical skill is taught in the classroom, and assignments tend to be more "conceptual" or "abstract." Some excellent painting professors are Mark Karnes and Michael Economos
