There truly is no excuse for putting on the fabled "Freshman 15" while studying at UCLA. UCLA offers its students an amazing diversity of recreational, athletic, and general health opportunities, and most students take advantage of these. You can't beat the price, convenience, or fun. WOODEN CENTER The Wooden Center is the main gymnasium available for use by UCLA students. Students need only show their Bruin Card to be admitted, and guests are allowed in for a nominal fee. This gym features nicely-maintained aerobic equipment, including treadmills, stair climbers, traditional stationary bikes, and reclined stationary bikes. Though there is a theoretical limit of 20 minutes while others are waiting, I almost never witnessed a line for aerobic equipment (there are perhaps 40 cardio machines). Paper towels and a cleanser are available so that users can clean their machines from sweat after use-believe it or not, people always clean up after themselves.
