In high school, I received A's and B's, butMay 01 2015Nursing
In high school, I received A's and B's, but my GPA averaged to a 3.45. I did 2 seasons of sports each year and worked. I received academic and athletic scholarships from UVM. If you did not receive scholarships, I would advise going to a less expensive school. I know many people who have to transfer because of the expense.
If you want to get into this school then all you have to do is try your best. Work hard and show that you will be an advantage to have at the school.

Contact admissions, they will be more likely to accept you if they know you want to go there. Slightly above average sat scores (1700 range), extracurriculars, good recommendations.

To get into this school, I didnt have to do much. I got mainly B's in school, low 1600's for SAT scores, and participated in a few extracurric's. The selection for this school is very random, becuase i know people with better SAT's and grades than me, who did not get in so it truely is random. You dont really have to do anything special to come here, it's sort of a "blah" school anyway.

Do something to make you stand outSep 20 2009Education
Do something to make you stand out. When you're writing your college essay, be yourself. This is an institution that thrives on individual differences. I had about a 3.2 overall gpa and a 1700 on the SAT. I put little to no effort in to my work in High school. I was, however, involved in dozens of volunteer activities and I started my own volunteer programs in my community. My essay is also what got me in. I told my life story (which I won't spill out here. haha). I made it personal, and it reflected my truth, my struggles, and me as an individual. Take a lot of time on your essay... Make it YOU. Do your best on the SAT and for your grades. Lastly, GET INVOLVED. Have extracurriculars. Have community service. Also, try not to start community service senior year, just for applications... do it throughout high school. If you are in the case where you're a senior and just starting volunteer work, it's fine. Just keep working hard. Also, when you apply make yourself sound like a leader. They want people who are ready to enforce change. Good luck!! UVM is an awesome school and Burlington is an amazing place. :)
