I applied twiceJan 01 2020Unknown
I applied twice. The first time I was denied due to what they considered a low GPA. What it actually was, was USF not recognizing the 45 military and community college credits I had earned and only scoring my 2.0 GPA from two high school high school dual enrollment classes 3 years prior. Upon appeals I recieved a generic scripted letter telling me to consider the same community college they just ignored on my transcript. I recieved no help from the office of veterans success as I was not a USF student and I had to spend another year taking filler classes to improve my gpa.
My second time applying, I was accepted, but as an out of state student and charged as such. I have maintained residence in Florida since 2002 but had done several years as active duty military. I was advised to pay my out of state tuition in full to insure I was not removed from classes and trust USF would eventually refund me the proper amount.
For students wanting to attend, seriously consider other schools, USF is a commuter school and campus life is small and empty. Parking and traffic is a serious issue. Things are only getting worse as USF is continuing to market themselves as a more prestigious university than they really are.

I was first deferred as a high school seniorMay 21 2018Communications
I was first deferred as a high school senior and was later accepted for summer instead of fall. I waited it out, went to a college close by and transferred after the AA, which I assume showed that I could handle the college workload.

I recommend attending a community college before-hand if you do not immediately get into USF. Save yourself allure, time and money... and you're also guaranteed admission after earning your AA at a Florida college. Trust me, I wasted lots of money just to end up in the small spot I would have been had I opted for a C.C.

I have heard people say it's not hard to get in with a 42% acceptance rate. If you went to a good high school try harder than I did and go somewhere better. My high school was recognized as being one of the best in my home state so I felt anyone coming from a decently funded school with well rounded classes could get in.

I attended and graduated from a community college and met all entrance requirements.

If anyone wants a college education do NOT go to USF, find a reputable college/university.
