I graduated top 1% of my high school, studiesJun 21 2019English
I graduated top 1% of my high school, studies abroad for a year in high school, took on leadership roles in prominent city clubs, for high test scores including all 5s on APs.
I recommend you work really hard and start to pursue your interests in high school. Don?t listen to the random ?people buying their way in? stories. That was an unfortunate few - at all top universities there will be ?legacies? and such. Ignore them.

Applied and interviewed via phoneSep 13 2018Other
Applied and interviewed via phone. The letters of rec, essay, SATs, and transcript submission were necessary. Extracurricular (library busy work, digging holes for city hall) were a waste of time prior to applying.

I worked extremely hard in high school and had a higher than average GPA. I was in the top 5% of my year. Nevertheless, I think that anyone that has a lot of money, connections, or legacy status (as in any other university) can easily get in. I've been told by a few of my friends that it's a low flat rate of $500,000 to get in. Other than that, my USC specific essays weren't spectacular, but my Common App was moving. If you have stellar grades and are really involved, it shouldn't be that difficult to get in, with a scholarship to boot. If you're out-of-state, like me, and aren't from the East Coast, you have an even bigger chance of getting in.

I started a film program at my old university,Apr 07 2016Other
I started a film program at my old university, entered film festivals, and interned at various media organizations. I created a lot of content. Some good. Some great. But my application showed that everything I did was for the betterment of either art or my community.

I transferred from Santa Monica Community College, which was a much better experience as far as education, much worse for campus life and activities.

I would recommend this school to students from rich families, extremely bright individuals, or people that want a very fun campus life with many activities.

I would not recommend this university to students that must take out loans, unless you are going into a lucrative field and can teach yourself upper level organic chemistry, physics, calculus, or et cetra.

This school is good for industry connections, so it would be good for those that seek internships. Non-science majors are much better at this university, but it is not a good science university unless you are an extreme academic.
