My scores were great for my school and area,Jan 09 2006Psychology
my scores were great for my school and area, but average for nyu. my gpa was unimpressive. i think they must have accepted me based more on my essay and extra-curriculars / community service. they want decent, above average scores but also weigh personal elements more than other schools may. and dont underestimate your future giving potential as a deciding factor. recent fund-raisers have raised billions in the last two years.

Apply, and hope for the best and prepare forNov 27 2005Philosophy
Apply, and hope for the best and prepare for anything else. i don't care what anyone tells you, take it from a person that has been there and did it his own way, be yourself. if that means not always doing everything and working your ass off, thats ok. Just chill, take things in stride, dont be overwhelmed, break things up and finish one thing at a time. Remember, especially in your senior year and your college freshmen year, do things that help you relax but get your shit done!

They are pretty critical. You have have decent grades and SATS... it is however, much easier to get in as a transfer as they love extra bodies as long as you are somewhat intelligent.
