I don't know how I did it. I applied and got in. I went broke and deep into debt going to NYU though. And the jobs just don't pay enough to justify the cost of going to school at NYU.

I just did a fairly standard common APP plus the NYU supplement. An essay about how much you love and work with children/the elderly/the community would not go amiss. You don't have to mean it, you just have to say it (which pretty much summarizes the NYU experience). Pretend to care, and you will be accepted. A year at NYU will kill your ability to pretend, but I guess some people love it....
