I took pretty difficult classes in high school, mostly APs and Honors when possible. I also participated in a lot of extracurriculars and clubs, which may have helped my admission into the Honors Program. I naturally tend to push myself in whatever I want to do. I'd encourage prospective students to really think about what they would be interested in pursuing and come in with some goals, or at least some ideas about what they want to try.

I understand NU was once considered an easy school, a safe school. No more. Most students here did very well in HS and on their SATs. They can write and think. I pretty much worked hard in HS, got good grades, prepared for my SATs and did well. I was a varsity athlete and participated in school and community activities. The usual stuff.
