I was on the track team for 2 yearsApr 10 2012Electrical Engineering
I was on the track team for 2 years. I was in student council 3 years. NHS, Helping Hands Club. Basically, GW is very community-service oriented in their image. In your essay I would suggest mentioning how you would like to continue community service here. I did not interview nor did I even visit the campus and I applied regular decision (RD). Personally, I was a unique applicant in that I have three patents and so it was clear to the university I wanted to go to the law school here as well as their IP program is top-notch so they figured I would be a good fit.

It's not completely difficult to get intoDec 25 2011Finance
It's not completely difficult to get into. Our acceptance rate is around 31%. Make sure you show them you want to go there. Good stats don't always guarantee acceptance. People have been rejected with 2000+ SATs over those with 1900s, or sometimes even less, because they showed genuine interest. Don't write a generic why GW essay. There are plenty of good schools in DC. They want to know why you specifically chose this one
SAT: 1970 Female
I did well on ACT's and SAT's, but IJul 09 2011Political Science
I did well on ACT's and SAT's, but I think what really helped me to get in was my college essay. I recommend to prospective students to not goof off the last semester of senior year. Still make sure you are doing well, and make your essay explain who you really are.
ACT: 29 SAT: 1920 Male
I had A's and B's in Honors and APAug 04 2010Business - Management and Administration
I had A's and B's in Honors and AP classes in high school. I had a high ACT score and a ton of community service hours and held multiple leadership positions.
My essay is what really helped me out when it came to getting into schools, and getting scholarship money. It was titled "The Importance of Giving Back" and was about how volunteering helped build my character.
Spend a lot of time on your personal statement, write it about something that you feel like you didn't get to tell the admissions office about through the rest of your application. Get it edited by at least 4 people, and make sure you are really proud of it, and that it represents you. I think the essay is something that a lot of students don't spend enough time on.
Good Luck!
ACT: 31 SAT: 2040 Female
To get in is simpleApr 18 2010Civil Engineering
To get in is simple. Not much diversity in the shool. Write essays pinpointing ur diversities to the best of ur abilities.
