Get involved at your school and do well onApr 26 2011Computer Science
Get involved at your school and do well on either your sat or act. Id also recommend getting a teacher or someone else to review your essay before you apply.

I got into Tech the year before they requiredSep 23 2009Engineering Department
I got into Tech the year before they required essays. I think it was a 2 page application and a small fee. Tech didn't have much to go on when I got in (GPA, SAT, and whatever extracurriculars I listed). I'm pretty sure I got in by numbers 3.9-something high school GPA, 1410 SAT (when it was out of 1600), and I took a decent number of AP-level courses. If you show good grades in high school and that you challenged yourself with the coursework, you've given Tech a reason to believe that you'll put in the work that you need to in order to do well in the coursework at Tech.
SAT: 1410 Male
Good solid background in the math and sciencesJun 23 2007Biology
Good solid background in the math and sciences. A lot of people will say that they don't care about essays, but they do. A good SAT score is needed, but not an exceptional one (unless you are going for a scholarship, that's completely different.)
I dont really remembr how i got into this schoolApr 15 2007Computer Science
I dont really remembr how i got into this school. I don't think you have to write essays. I heard that if you have a 1000 on the SAT (verbal + math) you can get in here. the freshmen retension rate is only 60%. I would not recommend this school to anyone. ONLY come here if you have a girlfriend otherwise YOU WILL remain single your entire college life.
SAT: 1950 Male
Have a good GPA, do well at the SAT / ACTFeb 08 2007Mechanical Engineering
Have a good GPA, do well at the SAT / ACT. Write a decent essay that probably will not be read.

I recommend students to know what they are getting into before they decide for this school. If you don't feel welcome, don't hesitate to transfer. I don't recommend this school. Good luck with getting any reasonable financial assistance other than loans and minor scholarships.
SAT: 1300 Male
