If you have a high enough high school GPAJan 18 2018Psychology
If you have a high enough high school GPA and demonstrate passion for your selected field of study (even if you haven't been involved in many extracurricular activities) you will likely be accepted. Likewise, if your GPA is on the lower side but you have demonstrated leadership experience and a robust social life, you will likely be accepted. Keep in mind that (in my opinion) it is NOT difficult to get into Mason. Their current acceptance rate is around 65% or 70% (they say that it is lower, like around 50%, but the numbers don't lie).

I was at first rejected from GMU despite having 3.8 GPA, average SAT, many extracurricular activities, and volunteer work. Then, I went to NVCC and got my associate with a 4.0 GPA majoring in computer science and with guaranteed admission, I finally got in. Once I got it, I was shocked at how easy the classes are! it is super easy, like middle school.

I didn't have a great unweighted GPA (somewhere around a 3). I got a 1990 on the SAT and took a bunch of AP classes. Although I didn't do well in all of my AP classes, I think taking them helped me out. I had some extracurriculars and a unique sort of life story which both likely helped me. I applied regular decision, although I should have applied early action. Feel free to contact me for admission advice! I know it's really stressful.
