| Most Frequently Asked Questions|
Does Omega Ad Optimizer Violate my Networks' TOS?
No. We've also been running it for
2 years now, hourly, without any comment — most networks know that we are running it, having told them
about it directly.
Do I have to share my passwords with you?
No. Everything is kept on your own
Does this run on your system or mine?
Omega Optimizer runs on your system, in the background, in
realtime. You will need to have Linux, PHP, and Perl installed. If you have a linux machine, you
probably have all those 3 already.
What Networks does Omega Support?
Omega Optimizer supports Burst!, FastClick/ValueClick, Tribal Fusion,
Casale, and Google. These 5 account for 99% of the market.
What results can I expect?
I've seen about 60% reduction in lost defaults (from 40% down to 16%) — some loss is unavoidable. We
also saw an enormous increase in revenue from constant chain reording (putting the “effective” highest CPMs first), and a reduction
in loss from periodic ad network server failure (failed networks receieve less ads automatically until they start performing again).
And probably the biggest gain you will notice right away, is the time saved not worrying or trying to improve
your system! Then you can focus your time on selling ads directly or improving content!
For supplement, read our
article: Reducing Default Loss.
Do I need any other ad serving solution if I use this?
No, Omega will completely
manage your inventory to the different networks.
How Fast is it?
Really Fast. I'd say, probably without using
any of the listed optimization tips, it can probably handle about 150,000-200,000 requests/day. Perhaps more.
I run a VPS (Virtual Private Server)
Unfortunately, usually if you run a VPS, you will need to use our
hosted version of Omega's reporting tool — most VPS's do not come with sufficient development libraries to support the SSL (or building the SSL) needed to make local report gathering work.
