I have not yet attended University of WisconsinSuper BrilliantPsychology
I have not yet attended University of Wisconsin in Madison. I will hopefully be attending in fall of 2005. I have, although, visited the campus with a buddy of mine. We found that the people were relatively friendly, the campus was beautiful, the campus was full of white people, and overall we enjoyed are stay. The city was also quite small (I am from Chicago, big city). The main reason I am choosing to attend is because of their highly regared psychology department. Currently, they rank number 2 in clinical psychology. Some positive remarks include the the campus is built right off a nearby lake making the scenery quite delicate and serene. The aspects I was not to fond of is that it was cold and raining when I was down there (not the schools fault). If I get accepted I can't wait till attend.

Question
Choosing UW-Madison for my undergrad was one ofEnglish
Choosing UW-Madison for my undergrad was one of the best things I could have done for myself. The campus is amazing -open and beautiful-and the people are kind and intellectually diverse. It has a great social life and academically, the professors keep you on your toes. People definitely have a work hard, party hard attitude here and it seems to work for the best. Even if you're not into parties, the city of Madison provides tons of activities and opportunities to keep you busy. From volunteerism to activism to musicals and plays, you can be sure you will never feel left out on this fabulous college campus.

Question
I transferred here from a very small, uptightQuite BrightPsychology
I transferred here from a very small, uptight private university, and UW-Madison is by far the better experience, both socially and academically, of the two. People who expect to have life neatly handed to them on a fancy platter probably won't do very well here, but if you make even the smallest effort to meet new people and explore the city there is no end to the possibilities. Yeah, the faculty are self-absorbed, but without that passion for their own work they wouldn't be as interesting and inspiring as all of my professors have been. Yeah, the winters are awful, but if anyone was conscious during geography class in elementary school they would have realized that's just the way it is around here. I've learned to adapt to and even love the winter weather and activities now. Mostly, I love the thousands of opportunities surrounding students on this campus. It is so easy to walk out your door and join a new club or interest group, become a volunteer, become active in politics, make friends with that cute guy in your chem class or find a new hangout you'd never considered before. If you have an open mind and can make the effort to make your life what you want it to be, then I'd say Madison is a great place for you to be.
