Ok u should totally take advantage of uwQuite BrightComputer Science
Ok u should totally take advantage of uw madison's study abroad or university exchange student prog's---that means you won't have to be at this god-awful school as much! my advice: look somewhere else! don't be like me, a jr who's put in three years and is too close to transfer...yet has had a really rough time with know-it-all self-absorbed professors and students and can't wait 2 leave!

Question
UW Madison students suck. Not so brightSocial Work
UW Madison students suck. There's just really no other way to put that. For a city that's supposed to be so "diverse" I found many of the students here to be extremely shallow, closeminded, and extremely derogatory to others who have not grown up in the big cities (Chicago, etc) like they have. The students here are very stereotypical (fratty types) and they do a really great job of stereotyping and alienating others. I personally thought that at a school that's as big as UW you'd be sure to find a group that shares your interests, but that really hasn't been the case. Most of the students here are so stuck-up and convinced they are God's gift because they go to Madison that it's just sickening. If you want to find a student body filled with kids who are welcoming, friendly, open-minded, upbeat, etc. Madison is certainly not the place for you. The cliquey-ness of this school is absolutely crazy. College is supposed to be a place in which people mature and learn to accept new ideas and things - instead of reverting back to childhood. I'm actually leaving UW and going to UW Milwaukee next semester, and I am really excited about my decision to do so. I've spent a lot of time on the UW-Milwaukee campus with friends and so forth and the atmosphere is completely different--people are honest, down-to-earth, friendly, interesting...instead of artificial and Greek carbon copy people. If you're thinking about coming to Madison and value humanity, please stop thinking about Madison and find some other schools.

Question
The University of Wisconsin is a joke.Journalism
The University of Wisconsin is a joke. I'm not kidding. The only reason that I'm doing what I'm doing career-wise is because of the solid education I received at UW-Eau Claire. I attended graduate school here at Madison, and it was pretty much just a repeat (except a really BAD repeat) of my undergrad. Going to master's school here was a COMPLETE waste of my time, money, and effort. If you'd like to go to school here as a grad student (or ANY student for that matter) please reconsider. I'm not particularly proud to tell people where I'm getting my MA from. In fact, several of my department's alumni encouraged me to attend other schools, such as Northwestern, because of UW's subpar academics. Please don't bother coming here. I bet I'm the first alumni to say that I'm extremely embarrassed to put UW on my resume. I think it's because I know better and I'm not sucked in by all this "go Bucky" bullshit.
