Being from a small town near a bigQuite BrightNuclear Engineering
Being from a small town near a big city, the overall size of Madison is not a big deal. The academics here are awesome, and the university knows it. Most courses are curve graded, making it a disadvantage to study and collaborate with others. I do not consider this a bad thing, as it forces many students to study on their own and be self-dependent. There is a wide variety of intelligence levels within the school. As a nuclear engineer, I study with some of the brightest minds in the university. However, not every program as I understand it is as challenging as what I have experienced. I must admit, however, that if it were not for the academics at this school, I wouldn't think twice about leaving. All the "activities" you may have heard about in Madison all include alcohol and immorality. There are a few Christian groups to get involved in, but these are less than 1% of the school's population. If you choose not to drink yourself stupid every weekend, and to keep up in your classes, you must work solid through the weekend to keep up. This doesn't some people. As I see it, that is why we pay the money, and it's why we can take pride in our academics. If I were to recommend this school or not, I would have to know the person. If you are an immoral person, come here!!!!!!!! If you are a strong person in your faith and in your morals and want to test yourself, come here!! If you want strong academics, come here. Otherwise, you may be better off to look elsewhere.

Question
UW was fantastic.Geography and Geosciences
UW was fantastic. Madison is an incredible place to live. My only regret is that I had to leave it to get a job. My dept is one of the top ranked in the country, and I had my choice of jobs when I got out.

Question
Do you remember all of those people youAveragePolitical Science
Do you remember all of those people you hated in high school? The jocks, the preps, the popular kids, homecoming and prom queens, the snobs...etc? Well, if you'd like to reunite with those kinds of people Madison should be your first choice. It's no secret that many of Wisconsin's high schools' "top athletes, students" that you loved to hate back in HS make their way here. So do the math, and you can estimate just what kinds of people you'll be forced to have class with and party with once you get to college. If you don't ever want to leave that "high school" mentality or have any ambition to ever grow up, Madison is the perfect university for you.
