Amazing school, great opportunities, insanely fun nightlife, just be ready to work HARD and be able to fend for yourself. It's rare to have a close advisor or faculty member unless you really latch yourself onto someone. You need to have strong individual motivation, or you will get lost in the crowd, and no one will care or notice. Sounds cruel, but it's a huge student body.

Wow, don't believe the hype! This is one of the more pretentious universities around, and it has no real reason to be. The students here are hopelessly AVERAGE, but because they got into Wisconsin, they they they are the tops. This is a large _public_ university, folks, and getting in here is a LOT easier than you think it is.

The professors, for the most part, are good, but uber-liberal and they will oppress you for your beliefs if you don't toe the line. You might be thinking, "I'm a radical liberal, so that's just great.." Hey, if that's the case, don't you think, at this stage in your life, that you still have some more growing to do? Don't become an oppressor like they try to make you here, become truly open-minded and go to someplace that really does view ALL ideas with a REAL open mind.

In any case, since the students here are so abjectly average, it's better to go to a smaller school, filled with more average students, where you can at least be more than a number. The bureaucracy here is horrific, and you'll be lucky to get a fair advisor who doesn't accidently make you take 10 more classes than you need to for your major. Wow, I can't warn you enough! Stay away!
