Vcu is an awfull university.Economics
Vcu is an awfull university. Do not go there unless you are not accepted anywhere else. There is no campus life. You are basically just a number at vcu. VCU claims it is a "nationaly recognized university". This is completely wrong. It is no more that a large community college. Any other school in Virginia would be a better choice.

Question
When deciphering universities and figuring out which oneQuite BrightLanguage - French/Spanish/etc.
When deciphering universities and figuring out which one would be best for me, I considered VCU as one of the top Virginia schools. I had many peers who decided to attend William and Mary or University of Virginia, both of which I applied and considered attending, too. I almost decided to attend UVA, which is a very good school, but I had apprehensions about the 'preppy' atmosphere I felt there. Looking back, I know I made a good decision to study at VCU. I am very proud to be a Ram. I had an enriching experience as an undergraduate, and cultivated lifelong friendships with both VCU students and teachers alike. The University provided me with the knowledge and skills I sought for building a successful career path as an undergraduate student, and it will continue to be a resourceful tool with its useful alumni network and professors to whom I remain connected. A large part of who I am today derives from my four years as a VCU student. I am grateful to say the least.

Question
I'm shocked at all of the negative reviewsQuite BrightPsychology
I'm shocked at all of the negative reviews on here! I also find them kind of funny because they are so laughably untrue. These people are CRAZY! VCU is one of the best schools in the country. I have met some of the most amazing people on the planet at VCU. The school is so big and so diverse, it's almost impossible NOT to make friends. If someone can't find a good group to hang out with, they must have really horrible social skills. The students who go here are interesting, bright, funny, and nice. There are so many different groups of people: There are book worms and there are art students. There are preppy southern greeks and there are hipsters. There are rich people and there are poor people. There are conservatives and republicans. You just have to find your place. VCU is not the kind of school to hold your hand. It's for UNIVERSITY level students. It is in the city. If that isn't something that you want, than maybe you should look elsewhere. If you want a small school whose counselors know you by name, VCU probably isn't the school for you. If you are independent and capable of figuring things out on your own, maybe it is. The courses are challenging and very demanding. Compared to my friends who attend other schools, VCU has very high academic expectations. At the same time, VCU also has an awesome party scene. House parties go on every weekend (and some weekdays, too). All you have to do is walk through the fan and someone sitting on their porch will invite you in. There are tons of bars throughout Richmond as well. After going to VCU for 4 years and currently getting ready to graduate, I am incredibly sad to be leaving behind this amazing institution and all of the wonderful people I have met here. I am also so thankful for the education I have received and the opportunities I now have. I hope this review sheds some truth about VCU to those thinking of applying. I highly recommend it. :)
