UH School of Architecture has prepared me wellArchitecture
UH School of Architecture has prepared me well for entering the working field. I had a very intensive, but fun filled 5-year there. The tuition is affordable which allowed me to spend more on materials and study abroad program. It is a 5 year professional degree that will prepare you well for higher education or getting the license.

The University of Houston (UH) is a "different"Quite BrightMechanical Engineering
The University of Houston (UH) is a "different" type of University. I'll be honest, I got a full scholarship here and thought UH would be the "practical" step; there is no doubt that if I stay here I could be one of their top students and get into a wonderful graduate program. Yet UH truly does not offer the college experience that I wanted. Only 10% of the students live on campus; this is a commuters school and you can sure as hell feel it. The only food offered is fast food and even though we have 35,000 students, by 6 PM this campus is EMPTY. Keep in mind UH isn't urban in the sense of NYU/Northwestern/UT, you have to DRIVE off campus if you want to go anywhere and good luck finding parking. The student body is nice but most of them are apathetic/restrained; most feel like they are "settling" for less at UH and as a result graduation/grades/ are poor. There is little school spirit and most student's don't give a damn. Socially, there aren't that many parties, most students go to UT/AM/Rice for the week ends to have fun and then return back to UH for "work".

Academically, UH is alright. The school isn't "easy"; the engineering classes are still difficult and most of the course work piles up. The Facutly here are dedicated, most of them are trying hard to expand the University's image. To be frank, if you want to have a college experience, don't go to UH. UH is a great place to get work done; get in and get out with a degree but it ISNT a place to experience life.
