I love the University of Houston.Quite BrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
I love the University of Houston. I've had some really great professors, and have found the coursework to be both beneficial and challenging. I suspect that many of the bad reviews found here on this website are from either students who have selected majors that they are illsuited for, or from students who are seeking a keg party instead of a valuable education.

All in all, I wouldn't take a minute or second back from my college experience here. I have made a multitude of friends, and have enjoyed many campus activities. (Particularly Cougar football games!)Go Coogs!

Question
The administration at the University of Houston isBrightFine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
The administration at the University of Houston is appalling. If this were a business that relied on quality of customer service U of H would have long gone out of business. The amount of hoops you have to jump through and red tape you have to deal with to take care of any simple administrative task is amazing. They simply DO NOT care about their students. You are a dollar sign to them and that only. Don't get me wrong- I am not speaking of the professors. I am speaking of every single administrative person I have ever encountered in my many years of experience. All though I would not be upset if they required their professors to speak English clearly. I had to drop physics because the professor was from Latvia and simply COULD NOT BE UNDERSTOOD! I ended up getting an F in that class because the administration never dropped me from the class and I clearly thought I was not longer enrolled and stopped taking the class. I didn't get a transcript until a year later and realized I had received the F. I was well beyond the six month window to do anything about it even though I had paperwork proving that I had dropped the class. That F did horrible things to my GPA that are irrepairable and not at all my fault. I could go on for days with examples very similar to this as to why you should avoid going to the University of Houston at all costs. Go to a smaller school where they might actually care about you. The cherry on top is that I attended last fall and finished 12 hours with A's in all 4 classes and paid the tuition very early on in the semester. About 3/4 of the way through the semester they sent me a bill for tuition from two years earlier that had been paid. I couldn't find the receipt so I had no proof it had been paid- but there is no way they would have continued to let me attend if I had an outstanding balance you can believe that. So they gave me W's in all of the classes. I have since paid the tuition AGAIN and they still won't give me credit for the semester. If you are looking for a university that keeps you on hold for more than half an hour and then hangs up on you then the University of Houston is your place. If you want to have to redo every piece of paperwork because they lose it then U of H would be the place for you. If you want to lose credit for classes you have fairly taken and received grades in and receive F's in classes you have dropped then there is no place better to attend college than the Universtiy of Houston. I abhore U of H and deeply regret attending this college for even one semester. I am thinking of starting an "I Hate U of H" blog. That is how much this place has upset me. By the way- I am now attending HCC and have been delighted by their adminstration. Last side note- I have been on hold for the last 38 minutes with the registrar office and am STILL ON HOLD trying to request a transscript and was just hung up on yet again. Is that the service you would like?

I am in my 4th year at UH. My current GPA is a 4.0. I transferred out of HCC and got kicked out of UT-Austin. This school is really very easy, not kidding! However, I couldn't find any internship with my GPA.
