Horrible university.BrightBiology
Horrible university. Most of the professors are unapproachable and are too self absorbed in their own research to help students. This University claims to be a Research university however since there are students there...it is still a university and the professors should treat their students much better than they do. Most professors don't care about their office hours. You are just a number here and no university should be like this.

Question
I went to this university for 2 yearsBrightMechanical Engineering
I went to this university for 2 years from 2005-08Some of the core classes are decent, the teaching assistants are usually pretty helpful. The majority of the professors are "tired old men" who stay in a small office that smells of moldy paper with all kinds of old obsolete research journals on the shelves to make you feel like you are in a special place. This university is just another CORPORATE DRONE FACTORY the internships are only available at like senior level and are super selective and will probably squeeze u until you fail your courses. I am a slow and meticulous learner and the university physics class went so fast and covered like 7 disconnected chapters in a 25 chapter book that i made a D. It would be better to learn it right than to learn it in a rush. In my public schooling the teacher used to know who i was and you would see the same people and get to build a relationship with them. Here the professors do not care who you are and there are so many students that it is like seeing the same person twice at the mall. The students seem to be in a real hurry and stressed out. There are so many demoralizing things about this university. Broken sidewalks, endless construction, parking problems, ghetto surrounding area, expensive, dirty computer lab. It would be better just to get a job at Target / work at the Zoo / volunteer and invent something in your free time than to go to this gulag to break your spirit.

Question
UH is a really amazing campus, filled withNot so bright
UH is a really amazing campus, filled with all the wrong people. The faculty is really nice, they try to help you out as much as they can. The campus demographics are crazy though. UH is really diverse, statistically, but most of that diversity is at home taking online courses. UH main campus is run by mostly Asian everything. Nothing is wrong with that, but most of them are stuck up. Don't believe me? Go to the 3rd floor of the library. That aside, diversity means nothing if everyone sticks into groups of their own race. Really UH is just a a campus full of non-intersecting racial circles. If that's what you want then it's the place for you. I do not pay to go to UH at all with all the fin aid and scholarships I have. I would rather go to a college I had to pay for, than stay here.
