I transferred to UH after a year andQuite BrightPsychology
I transferred to UH after a year and a half at a com college. I was so excited to finally be at a university and have always been very enthused about my education. Unfortunately that is not the atmosphere there and they seem to crush your drive to learn. They are completely unorganized and took over a year to evaluate my transcripts (I had already attended the school for the year before they evaluated them) and because of this my financial aid was that of a freshman rather than a junior. They took so long to disperse my loans that I always had to either do a payment plan or an emergency loan in order to attend. The welcome center would take my paperwork and say it would be turned in, then a week later I would call to check and they would have no record of anything ever being turned in. I would go down there and demand to speak to someone who would actually do their job, yet everyone I met with would be the "wrong" person and they would send me to someone else, a huge circle until I ended up at the beginning and starting over. I never received and adequate amount of advising from the school counselors either. They degree plans were constantly changing! I would go in and find out what classes I needed, enroll and start the sem., then go to enroll the next sem. and find I had taken classes that were useless (though I had been told to take those very ones). I would find out about deadlines for things after they passed and ended up putting me a hole semester behind when I wanted to graduate. The prof were not much better, none of them seemed to care or put any effort into their classes. I would take online classes then the prof would make you attend weekly or bi-weekly meetings... DO NOT GO TO THIS UNIVERSITY!

Ive been to UT, UH, TSU san marcos. Ironically, ive never had anything stolen even when i forgot to roll my window up. Crimes statistics are roughly same for all schools. But my motorcycle was stolen in san marcos. And the police said a lot are stolen in san marcos. UT is on top ten most barglarized neighborhood in usa. I got $5500 stolen from checking account and mail and kayak stolen at UT. I have yet to have anything stolen at UH. And the crime records show low incidence of rape and other crimes as compared to other schools. But the university is probably hiding some way. When my mototrcycle showed up on a river bank i san marcos, the cop was reluctant to make a report. I felt like some thought i had what was coming. But i had no enemies or diferences with anyone.

Question
Very diverse and friendly student body.AverageComputer Science
Very diverse and friendly student body. Most professors are helpful but you will encounter those who only care about their research. The campus itself it safe but the area immediately outside campus is not(hesitant to walk around at night). The academic and athletic sides are UH are growing each semester. Became Tier 1 and Cougars football is becoming one of the major competitors(in CUSA at least.
