I am not a native Texan but I have lived in Texas 6 years now with the last 4 years being in Lubbock. I am graduating in Dec. 2011. I genuinely love Texas Tech, I have enjoyed my time here. I would recommend Tech to anyone, especially the College of Engineering. The weather can be a little crazy at times so be forewarned. The campus is amazing, the social scene was good, and the education was challenging. Guns Up!

Question
I have adored my 5 years at Texas Tech.Quite BrightAgriculture/Horticulture
I have adored my 5 years at Texas Tech. I have alwas felt safe in Lubbock. Classes were challenging and forced you to think and get involved in the community. We did a lot of hands on applied work and were frequently in a lab or outside. Texas Tech has a beautiful campus and has many brand new bulidings. The old ones you can tell are old on the inside but they are maintaned well. Everywhere you go in this city takes 10 minutes and traffic is 4 people ahead of you at a stop light. Some people may find Lubbock boring but everyone finds creative ways to have fun. I never once had a problem applying or reciving financial aide and every time I called the administration or any service facility a living person answered the phone. I never felt like a number or hassled. Some professors are a little arrogant but that doesn't mean they are not nice they just know what they are taking about. I also rarely had a class taught by a TA most of my professors had a masters or a Phd. When a student gets sick or needs a check up the student health care is top notch and the heath building has their own pharmacy and they give you a dicount on your prescriptions The one thing they could imporve on at Texas Tech is helping students get a job offor before they graduate. you do not need the largest meal plan if you are living in the dorms. For girls HORN KAPP dorms have big rooms moveable furniture and adjustiable temperature. There are lots of band people who live there and if you are not part of the Go'in band you will hear them practice in the band parking lot.
