I am from Texas (Austin), but going toBrightPsychology
I am from Texas (Austin), but going to TAMU makes even me want to believe the stereotype of Texans as being redneck. I actually love country music and have loved Texas my entire life, but people from A&M are mostly from tiny Texas towns that I have never heard of and it seems that going to school anywhere else in the world is incomrehensable to them. I did not grow up being an Aggie fan (I was actually a Longhorn fan), so all of the die hard aggie stuff is a little bit annoying. And usually I love school spirit but here it is so intense it makes me feel out of place like i'm not a hard core enough aggie to belong. and they HATE UT, like get over it already. who cares. In my opinion, if you weren't raised an aggie just dont go here. the redneck, howdy saying, whooping people who think aggies are the most respectable people in the world get old. And I've made no friends because so many people from my high school go here and other people I have met are still friends with their high school friends. everyone here is from texas. i want to see the world and know what else is out there..if you're the same this is not the school for you. it gets so much hype from all those who adore the aggies but really it is not awesome. at all. I'm transferring out of state in the spring.

I have never had a large part inQuite BrightPreMed and Medical
I have never had a large part in the big Texas rivalry. In fact, I applied to every school in Texas and got in to all of them. After visiting UT, Baylor, and aTm, I chose to become an aggie. Baylor just wasn't a college atmosphere and UT was too full of itself. aTm is the perfect college town because the entire town has grown solely because of the university. The academics are great and the culture is amazing. Being an aggie is more exciting than being a part of anything else. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a exciting time in college.

Question
I attended A&M this past year and wasBrightCivil Engineering
I attended A&M this past year and was so excited to attend since my dad went and graduate from A&M. I grew up an Aggie and found of the highest honor that I got into all the school I wanted too, but decided to go to A&M. The other schools are UT, SMU, BAylor, TTU,and TCU.

As soon as I got on campus I hated it because my roomates were very uptight, and closeminded! I shrug it off, and went on about my year, but I found out that A&M was full of these jokers and the corps were no better. I once got into a fight with a corps guy because I didnt say howdy and another time because I didnt get out of his way when walking. WOW, this place is not for everyone, but it is for the hard core christian based, WHITE, close minded people.

My dad is white, and my mom was hispanic, but I looked more like my mom so I had a hard time making friends off the bat, and many times others didnt bother to talk to me in class or when I tried making friends. I tried joining a fraternity as my dad was a SigEp at A&M and during rush none of them, and i mean non of them even tried to talk to me or get to know me since I looked more hispanic, but with a white name. Even though my dad was a major donor to the fraternity they still didnt offer a bid. This was just some of the things I faced at A&M, and there is no

Diversity, and if there is its hard to find.
The biggest common joke at A&M amoung students is if you see a pocket of black folks they are athletes only or thugs.

Football games were fun if you had friends go with you, and I had only a few for some reason even though I strived to make friends all the time. At games its fun if your left alone, but everyone talks trash to you if you dont take off your hat when we are doing yells, and many times I just ignored them, but alot of the student would talk trash throughout the game and calling me wet back or telling me to go back to mexico. After that I didnt really go to games any more.

I needed to get out, and after one year i decided to transfer. I didnt like UT because of its campus in a big city, so I decided to transfer into Texas Tech. Its a great place, and although not much diversity is here either no one is racist, and everyone is friendly. My major is very rewarding and challenging! My dad didnt like it at first, but knew why I transfered and knows that I am very happy now, and has since converted to wearing his shirts that reads "my son and money go to Texas Tech".

Campus is huge, beautiful, the finest women you will ever see, and everyone talks to everyone it seems. The west texas friendliness cant be compared. I was afarid of all the stereotypes A&M would say about Tech and lubbock, but I would recommend anyone reading this to just take a visit and you will see the best kept secret in TEXAS!!!! Only reason student here ever talk about A&M is when A&M says untrue things about this campus and its academics. I can tell you right now, that you will be challenged and taught here just as good as at UT or A&M.

I loved my choice to attend Tech, and all the things A&M ramble about are simply not true. I cant explain it, but its a great feeling being around a diverse place with no close minded people, and have great athletics!

I would not recommend A&M to anyone, and right now I have my younger brother ready to transfer out of A&M himself because he is facing all the things I talked about. I can go on and on here, but please dont go to that brainwashing university. Go is your all white, close minded, and love BUSH.
