Howdy is the word.Quite BrightOther
Howdy is the word. You can start up a conversation with anyone. They will usally do anything that you ask them to do if they arn't in a hurrry. The dorms have a very supportive enviorment and trys to get everyone involved. They don't push you to do the activities but, the do help you build relationships that will help you later. The majority of the teachers ar more than willing to help you. The administration is the only thing bad. They give student the run around with Bonfire and the new Presidental canidits. Its a big school but it makes you feel like you matter.

Question
Texas A&M University is an outstanding educational institutiPreMed and Medical
Texas A&M University is an outstanding educational institution! I am currently in a Radiology residency at Harvard Medical School and my education at Texas A&M really provided the foundation for my career. If you strive to do well and succeed at TAMU you can make it anywhere.

TAMU was an all male military school until 1964. The student body is greater than 55% male. Also the Corps of Cadets is very central to the social life and student administration. 6:30 am Monday -Friday they will be marching behind George Bush Drive. Yell practice on Friday night before the football games at the stadium is quite an experience. You will see lots of military uniforms on the campus. There are also sororities and fraternities on campus.

If you want to have a social life at A&M it is will help if you are involved in the Corps or a fraternity if you are male. Every once in a while there is some antagonism between the two groups but it is really very modest at worst.

There is not much to do at College Station, besides go to the Dixie Chicken (Corps hangout) or Dudley's Draw. They are right across the Street from the North end of campus and next door to each other, so it makes the mingling easy. There are keg parties off campus that are occasionally fun. Los Nortenos in down town Bryan serves outstanding Mexican Food. There is nothing like 6th Street in Austin in College Station. Lake Summerville is west of town and the Country Inn there is an outstanding steak place. The Sailing Club has outings at Lake Summerville which can be quite fun.

TAMU is an outstanding educational institution. The social life is a little lame, but the education more than makes up for it.

Question
I have lived in College Station all myBrightSchool of Information
I have lived in College Station all my life and come from an Aggie family. True, there is not much of a night life here, but it is compensated by what A&M offers in student activities. Given the chance to leave, I chose to stay on and I'm quite happy with my decision.

I've met a lot of people here from different countries, so don't think this campus is strictly WASPish. It's up to you to approach new things and ideas and they're here if you're interested.

It's true about the "Aggie Community" here, anywhere you go you can count on a fellow Ag to help you out. You'll really get a dose of it at football games and Midnight Yell. That's the main reason I decided to stay here --I've been bleeding maroon since elementary school!

Schoolwise, they'll make you work for your grades and to get into the different colleges is getting increasingly more competitive. I've managed to keep a good GPA by learning how to manage my time and going to study groups -but I have not sacrificed a personal life either!
