Positive Negative Neutral Advice
For those who saw flaws in their educationBusiness - Management and Administration
For those who saw flaws in their education at J&W: Who is the real smart one here? You hated the school you went to, yet you decided not to leave? Those of you who are complaining about your educational experience, I don't believe for one minute that someone was standing at registration every term forcing you to pay tuition and register for classes.

Those of you who are proactive and motivated to succeed, like myself, took advantage of all of the great opportunities that the school provides its students with. I believe that I would not be as successful as I am today at the ripe young age of 22 if it wasn't for my experiences at Johnson & Wales University.

You often hear about J&W's 98% employment rate. If you wonder who those 2% are. They are the ones on this website making negative comments because they sat in their Dorm room eating junk food and hanging out with their friends and just waiting for the day when a job was going to fall in their lap.

A reality check for anyone who is in college or going into college. NO MATTER WHAT SCHOOL YOU GO TO, you are going to have to work hard to find a career that is right for you. Most schools will help you out, however, after many conversations with the 30 & 40 year olds that are now my colleagues, I have realized how much a Johnson & Wales Education has helped me to get where I am at today.

Thanks, J&W - Providence, Class of 2000

Question
The upside down shedule is great.Super BrilliantBusiness - Management and Administration
The upside down shedule is great. three terms with breaks between each. The year goes by fast. Your classes can be easily placed so club, sport, and campus involvement can fit as well. If you want to be big man on campus you can do it in 5 months of lots of work. Get your name out and be recognized as one of the best marketing students in the country.

Question
Personally, I think college is what you makeOther
Personally, I think college is what you make of it. I don't know about everyone else's major but things were quite competitive in marketing. I thought education level was great at JWU because we didn't only study marketing/advertising theories but we practiced them with marketing campaigns for JWU.Although I wished they had more advertising classes, they always were filled. Although I had a chance to go to some pretty good schools, I'm glad I went to JWU. I not only feel that I received a good education but most important great contacts & friends. My first job out of college was with Disney and I got that through one of my fraternity brothers. There is not colleges a California kid can go to hang out with people from New York, Alaska, Nevada, Boston, Sweden, Florida and more all in the same room. On another note, not everyone at JWU has money, I'm going to pay off my loans for a long time. I think most students hate the college they go to... it's not till after it's over you start appreciating it. JWU is a great school, just be optimistic and take advantage what the school offers. Plus this is my theory, it's not what you know, it's who you know.
