I am not going to say that JWUQuite BrightFinance
I am not going to say that JWU is on the level of a Yale or Brown but I found the education to be far superior to that of many mid to lower level universities. I live in lower Fairfield county Connecticut and I turned my JWU finance degree into a six figure a year job in hedge funds by the time I turned 26. It sounds like most people who do not like the school because it is not the UCONN, BU or BC of the Northeast. Another reason seems to be that they only stuck around for a year. I agree the first year you see alot of trash on campus but after that year and later on you notice your classes thin out to the students who can hack it and are not there to party anymore. Not saying that partying does not happen. I enjoyed it more than anybody, it is college remember. Finally I will say that I have been given many compliments on JWU by corporate professionals, many with degrees from schools far superior than mine. What you learn in college is good for your first 6 months of work after college then your degree is useless at least in finance. Remember college is what you make of it. If you put the effort in you will get alot out of it. If you do not put in the effort you will not get much out of it. Just like any other college except an Ivy League.

Question
The Providence JWU Campus changed my life.Quite BrightOther
The Providence JWU Campus changed my life... For the Better. I am from a small town in Upstate NY, Granted I have not traveled the world Providence was my home away from home. I gained many friends from all over the WORLD while attending JWU and I keep in contact with some still. My major was Hotel Mang. I worked as an RA at Snowden Hall and also Worked at Marriott. I loved every minute of JWU and would give anything to go back. Now that I am in "The Real World" I look back at JWU and how amazing my fellow classmates were and teachers alike. I would reccommend going to JWU, Providence. I was unable to finish my degree due to my father getting sick and having to come back to NY... But in the short time that I was at JWU the tools they taught me stick with me to this day. I am a Front Office Supervisor at Upstate NY premier Hotel Destination. We are 4 diamond rated by AAA and 2 year award winner/nominee of Conde Nast Johansens' Most excellent resort USA and Canada. I am proud to say that I did this without my degree but again would give anything to go back and finish... Attend JWU Providence, It has changed my life and it can change yours also.

"YOU ONLY TAKE FROM AN EXPERIENCE JUST ASSuper BrilliantOther
"YOU ONLY TAKE FROM AN EXPERIENCE JUST AS MUCH AS YOU'RE WILLING TO PUT IN"
I put over $60,000 into what turned out to be a very terrible experience. Going to Johnson and Wales was the worst choice I have made thus far in my life.

Someone in their financial aid department stole my identity and cashed checks in my name. Pretty professional, eh? The school is still refusing to own up it and now I have to take them to court.

As for the education: what a joke. Their admission standards are non existent and as the J&W motto goes "if all else fails, go to Johnson and Wales" Almost none of the chefs even have bachelors degrees. Tell me how I'm in a BA program being taught by someone without a REAL education?

Student life: lots of shitheads that won't make it longer than a year....mostly due to the admission standard.

Some people, like that bitch below, like to get real defensive about the college they attend. Partially because they can't admit to themselves that their education is a joke not up to par with other Universities. Generally the same people also like to throw around their GPA's but what does that matter when it SO frickin easy to obtain a high GPA at such a school with low academic standards.

Also, the icing on the cake for all the people that attended the Providence campus, you get to live in the ghetto! I mean like you can't walk down the street alone at night without the fear of possibly being jumped. good times.

stay as far away from this school as you can, for your own sake!
