I am a dual major in accounting andQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I am a dual major in accounting and finance and am graduating at the end of this year. I initally came here becuase I wanted to attend a college located in the city of Providence (as opposed to attending a University located in the suburban areas of Rhode Island) and felt that the Accounting and Finance degree programs here were excellent. I also liked the trimester setup as opposed to the standard semester terms as it provided me with the ability to complete two degreees in the same time it would have taken me to complete one at a standard 4 year school. The University itself is located right in downtown Providence and is scattered throughout the city, giving it a real urban feel, which I love. The facilities are clean and updated and the student body is diverse with students from both local, domestic, and foreign students attending the college. The class sizes are not too small, but not overly crowded, allowing the professors to interact with the students on an individual basis during class. An earlier post suggested that they were not challenged enough in their current course of studies, but, I can say that in most of my classes for the accounting and finance major, a project/paper/presentation, weekly homework, and tests consisting of essay questions (for the quantitative parts) and multiple choice (for the terminology) were assigned for each course that I took. I felt pretty challenged, but not overworked to the point of exhaustion. The professors incorporated technology and spreadsheet/computer work into every class, making me feel pretty well prepared for entry into the business world when I graduate later this year. I cannot speak for the other colleges or majors here at Johnson and Wales but I feel like I have learned a lot and am real happy with the education I have received. The College of Business here at Johnson and Wales has a lot to offer and provides the classes needed to teach you everything you need to know about accounting and finance. I really enjoyed being here over the last few years. Also, the school provides it's alumni with a lifetime job placement service after graduation, which is a huge plus. You never know where you'll be in the job market and the fact that the university does not forget or turn their backs on their alumni post graduation is a big plus about the University, giving me some comfort in knowing that the University is there to provide assistance with job placement should I need it in the future. I'm real happy I came here.

Johnson & Wales is the Perfect University forOther
Johnson & Wales is the Perfect University for any Chef at Heart that is Willing to make Sacrifices to Succeed. I Highly Recommend the Miami or Denver Campus, Rhode Island is too crowded. Being able to put Wales on your resume is a plus, everyone in the culinary field knows the name. Its an expensive choice but its worth it.
