I applied and was accepted to CAS atComputer Science
I applied and was accepted to CAS at NYU when it was in the height of its popularity and competitiveness with the ivy league. I did well in HS and was desperate to live in NYC. I didn't fully consider the social life or academics before I made my decision to attend NYU. BAD IDEA!

If you come from modest means, NYU is NOT the place for you. There are very, very few "campus" activities to participate in, and general social life consists of going out to expensive bars and clubs. Financial aid is a joke if your parents make more than $60k combined. Which is crazy considering the cost per year exceeds 40k! Also, I would not recommend taking out mountains of loans. You would think that a degree from NYU would help you get high paying, FT job after graduation... WRONG again!

Academics in CAS are sad. Just sad. Your first two years (or longer) are filled with requirements that have ZERO value. It was like boring, stupid torture that I actual PAID FOR. I have so many regrets. My a

Question
Absolutely nothing I did in my field helpedAnthropology
Absolutely nothing I did in my field helped me find a job. If I didn't have a high GPA and hadn't done Honors (graduate-level) classes, I wouldn't have found ANY job.

The social life is non-existent if you can't afford to go out to NY bars and clubs. There IS NO CAMPUs LIFE other than going out to NY clubs and bars. It is all very much based on your out-of-school money and social class, so make friends with any rich kids who live on your residence hall floor.

When you leave, you won't have made any connections other than those you could have afforded anyway. The academics are average at best, but there are so many required classes that you won't pick something you want to do until you have to commit . . . so there's no way you can look around and sample before you make a commitment. All in all, if you want to go to Tisch or Stern, then do. If you don't know what these are and you are considering CAS, DON'T GO. Please, really, don't do it.

Question
I have seen a lot of negative commentsQuite BrightCommunications
I have seen a lot of negative comments about NYU. I must say,you must
try to disregard them. Everyone will have their opinions, that is a known fact of life.I must say since I been attending N.Y.U,

I have become a better and sharper thinker. The course work and
faculty, made me aware that I was not operating at my full potential. I think the people that posted negative comments about N.Y.U, just could not adjust to the course load, or requirement for perfection.Which is the impression that I got during my first month at N.Y.U. I say come to this University, and experience it for your self. It will make you a better overall student. I am glad I enrolled here.It

is the best University in America, as far as I am concerned.
