Positive Negative Neutral Advice
A lot of people say negative things aboutSuper BrilliantMusic Education
A lot of people say negative things about this school. These people are either not a music student or are people who did not apply themselves and wanted a party school. This in not a party school nor are there fraternities and sororities. This school is an amazing music school. I have learned so much. There are many opportunities to build a resume (Student Government, Clubs, Radio Show host, if you write music and it's good enough the ensembles may perform them at concerts, and much much much more). DO NOT listen to the terrible reviews, this school is AMAZING. It prepares you for the real world, especially in the music education department.

Question
Simple advice.Quite BrightMusic - Composition/Theory
Simple advice..find a better school. It took me a year to realize how much this place doesn't prepare you for the real world. Therefore I transferred and I'm hoping you decide to look somewhere else. The school is essentially one small hallway. Including mediocre recording studios, a keyboard lab from the '70s, and classrooms with desks from the '60s. The place is a for profit school..and when I say that I mean the school sees hardly any of that money. The president and his lawyers get most of it (for his extensive lawsuits he has going on with family and the town). If you have the unfortunate luck of having to live on campus then be warned. The food might take a couple years off your life and there are little to no activities. The music staff are quite friendly. I did enjoy my classes..mainly cuz you can pretty much sleep through all of them and still make the dean's list. If you're looking for a challenging school that will prepare you for the music world..this isnt really the place. If you're looking for a day care then this is the place to be. But college is what you make of it really. I had some fun times and some annoying times at FTC (mostly disappointing). This just wasnt the place I thought it was advertised to be.
