The good news:Quite BrightMath
The good news: Rutgers has a stellar faculty which rivals those of the nation's most elite universities. Considering the size of the university, faculty members are reasonably accessible to students.

The bad news: Rutgers has the potential for true academic excellence. However, their sad devotion to "big time" professionalized college athletics often causes funds to be diverted from more worthy causes. It's heartbreaking to see deteriorating libraries and classrooms on a daily basis, while the university spends money building state of the art athletics facilities for their hired "student-athletes".

Question
I went to Rutgers College, and was aHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
I went to Rutgers College, and was a part of the honors program. I did not want to go initially, but in retrospect, I am very pleased with the education I received. Because it is such a large school, any attempt I made to get to know a professor was embraced and encouraged. Moreover, as a history major, I was lucky to be part of one of the most well-respected history departments in the country. I learned how to think critically and it has translated well into the professional world. I am extremely pleased with where I am now, and am currently applying to law schools, all of which are in the top tier. If you are willing to go out and get things, I would recommend Rutgers highly. In fact, even if you just want to go out and party, I would still recommend it, because I did my fair share of that, too. It's just that the latter goal sometimes impedes the former. All this for a great price.
