A good school, as far a huge public research universities go. Overall it places people, with the exception of pharmacy and engineering students, into better graduate schools than jobs, so it's probably somewhere you'd want to go if you intend to continue your academic career, but not necessarily the last institution you'd like to attend.

Question
This school sucks.BrightEducation
This school sucks. I transfered in as a junior and wasn't even given a dean until after Christmas. They have classes of 450 students and because of all the adjuncts [professors who are temporary] office hours are slim. I've never been able to make it to anyone's office hours because of slow buses and random times. The buses suck I've waited for an hour to get to my class before and what is up with the stupid bus drivers kicking you off if the bus is to full if you can get on you are fine we all have places to be. When you do finally have smaller class sizes the professor always has some cracked out attendance policy where if you are late 4 times you automatically fail; don't they realize we leave 45 minutes early as is to travel to classes.

Question
Rutgers sucked for me.Psychology
Rutgers sucked for me. They constantly lied to me about my status (lost my placement exam scores, lost my financial aid information, etc.) and administrative people never returned my calls in a timely manner. Be very careful and make sure you abuse the "resources" they give you. If you have a problem, keep harrassing the faculty until someone helps you. Every time I had a problem that I needed someone at the administrative offices to help me with, they didn't seem to take me seriously and didn't seem to want to help. You MUST be aggressive at Rutgers. You can't get lost in the crowd like I did my first few years. Stay focused and keep vigilantly in touch with your professors, your TAs, your dean, and your advisors or you'll get sucked under. In general, I had a horrible experience at Rutgers because people in the administration lied directly to my face or wouldn't return my calls. Don't let it happen to you. As for advice on what to do to get into RU: Clubs clubs clubs. Join clubs in high school. You don't need the greatest SAT scores or top honors. They are very interested in well-rounded, outgoing students and you need to be very sociable (but focused on your education goals) in this environment.
