I attended Rutgers College and my met my wife while she was an undergraduate at Douglass, which was one of the highlights of our four years in New Brunswick. What surprised me most about Rutgers is how the reputation of the school, especially with employers, improves as the the distance from New Jersey increases. I worked in Massachusetts and upstate New York and found many succesful Rutgers alumni in those areas who shared my observation. Rutgers, although a real "grind school" also serves as excellent (an inexpensive) preparation for graduate school, in fact I found graduate school much easier than my undergraduate education at Rutgers. Candidly, although I would not recommend that my children attend Rutgers, I am most grateful for the education and for the opportunities it provided. If you are a New Jersey resident, with significant financial aid needs, Rutgers is a viable option.

“What can I say.Not so brightDesign Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
What can I say...this place sucks! I did well on my SATS but got rejected by all the Ivy league schools because of my 2.8 G.P.A. Don't come here...go to a school in California instead because it will cost the same as this crappy ass, 4 campused, time wasting, school.

While I was attending Rutgers, I did nothing but complain about the parking tickets, difficulty registering for classes and the "RU Screw." But all in all, the education was great for the money, I had some inspiring teachers and I learned about the real world. Maybe that's good or maybe it's bad, but as I see it the real world isn't about an advisor holding your hand everytime you have a problem. It's about fending for yourself and making the most out of your experiences. Rutges alumni are survivors.
