Ahhhh...The Banks of the Old Raritan.BrightPolitical Science
Ahhhh...The Banks of the Old Raritan. I am finishing up my last year at Rutgers and I must say I have really enjoyed my time here. The RU Screw is always a challenge but any large University has those types of administrative problems. The administration is working hard to make Rutgers a better instituiton and it is paying off. The Dhali Lama is speaking this fall which is awesome. You have to be independent if you want to survive here, but that teaches you to grow up quickly. Political Science department is great, I have had former governors and congressman as guest lecturers. Grease trucks are bad for your health but so good at 3am. All in all I would recommend going to Rutgers. Oh, and it has a great reputation outside of New Jersey, everyone I talk to about it thinks it is an Ivy.

Rutgers has its positives and negatives like mostQuite BrightJournalism
Rutgers has its positives and negatives like most schools. If you are a NJ resident, don't listen to your high school friends about Rutgers. I dislike Rutgers for reasons other than the ones given by many NJ students. I love being close to home and I think the education is great. The bus system sucks. I bet they didn't tell you that. I love it at Rutgers though. Very great for an independent person.

Question
This school is very unsafe.AverageNutrition
This school is very unsafe. Almost every week there's news about another serial rapist, students getting held up outside of the dorms, robberies, hell even our president was mugged. On campus housing is filthy, at best. Students are not sociable or friendly, you won't have many friends if you don't join a frat or sorority. Town surrounding the campus is slums, there really is no reason to ever go off campus. Even if you want to leave campus, you can't. Besides the fact that you will get stabbed if you're a white person on the bus, even if you were that brave it would take you about an hour just to get to the bus stop. Food is unedible, bring a lot of money for take-outs. And if you don't live on college ave, good luck having a social life. The best you'll do is to hang out in someone else's rat infested apartment just to get away from your smelly indian roommate.
