The university sounded nice and friendly at first.AverageBiology
The university sounded nice and friendly at first. But once, you are in, you realize the arrogant, competitive, rude, and self-absorbed nature of almost everyone. It's not just student and faculty either, the whole city of Ann Arbor is rude. People maybe be nice to your face, but they have about as much caring in their hearts as Helen Keller had sight in her eyes. The professors set you up to fail. Deliberatly making the exams above your knowledge, and above what they-or the books have taught you. And good luck getting any help from the profs/gsi s--teach yourself. I will most likely transfer because of this crappy "teaching" style. I feel as if the atmosphere is thick with an "I'm better than you" or "you suck" attitude.

Question
If all you care about is materialism; thenAverageOther
If all you care about is materialism; then by all means go to this University. Chances are you will get a higher paycheck than someone who went to Michigan State, Grand Valley, Etc Etc.However, if you care about other things in life besides money, power, and prestige then you might consider a different University. Because(In my opinion) getting a degree from this University is not worth having to deal with the attitude of the average U of M student. If you don't know what I mean by "attitude problems" then by all means, Welcome to the University of Michigan.

Question
Great college and locationBiology
Great college and location for someone who is independent and goal directed. The opportunity that one has as a student at U of M is boundless. I loved being there as a student, and in retrospect still can't find anything negative to say (other the the price tag).
