USNA was a tough place to get through,Physics
USNA was a tough place to get through, but I will never forget the friends I made while I was their. I have had several lucrative job offers outside of the service for considerable more money, but I never thought that I would love the Navy this much. Some days are horrible, but for the most part, it has been a great experience. Almost like being back at USNA. There were days were I was miserable and then there were those where I thought it was the best place to be at. There are whiners and complainers, just like everywhere else, but in the grand scheme of things, the experience is what you make of it and what you put into it. Very challenging, but manageable curriculum, along with some B.S., but it builds character, teamwork, and friendships like no other university in the country.

Question
There is a certain amount of shock toElectrical Engineering
There is a certain amount of shock to the transition from high school to USNA. And I can still remember that first day. But, you learn alot about yourself and about others. And, there are lots of interesting, clever, challenging and fun things that do go on. The education was fine and the subsequent training for operating a nuclear submarine kept me busy but was not at all out of reach. Between USNA and submarines though, you learn that things have to make sense and you can't run anything on hope. You have to understand your equipment, your coworkers and yourself. They all have limitations. I am glad I went there. In contrast to the feelings towards the social life... sure we couldn't drink, but there were so many social functions that I couldn't keep up. Consider USNA if you don't mind working and want more responsibility than you can ever imagine. Two final thoughts... Too often LEADERSHIP is overrated. Sure, it has its place, but TEAMWORK is as important or perhaps even more important. Being on a good team is fun, no matter what your position is. And, the navy, like most other organizations is a good outfit. It will be the people you work with... that will make it good or bad. Always look to make any effort: safe, effective and fun.
