I had a 3.2 GPA in high school,Quite BrightEnglish
I had a 3.2 GPA in high school, and I had multiple extra-curriculars as well. I decided to apply to UMass but I figured I would end up going somewhere else, like some private school. I ended up getting put on the waiting list for UMass and into the three other schools I applied to. I eventually got in towards the end of the year, and I decided to go there. This is a GREAT school and the average GPA of the students here is roughly a 3.6! I've heard in a few years it might almost go Ivy League because of how much the students love it, and the professors as well. I hear no complaints and it's great!

Question
The School of Nursing at Umass and anywhereBrightNursing
The School of Nursing at Umass and anywhere will probably be the hugest surprise. I never expected it to be this difficult. The first two years at the university are fun and normal and its awesome to be with so many new people having fun. Then your junior year the work gets unbearly hard. You will be waking up at 430am to drive to Springfield to go to clinicals at Baysate. It is a shock but once you get thorugh the first hard semester you'll feel immune. You'll start to learn how to balance the insane amount of work, keeping yourself healthy, and friendship and fun. About to graduate, even though I've had a difficult time, I wouldn't change it. I am so proud of myself for sticking with it and am very happy to be graduating and becoming a RN :)Umass Amherst all in all is awesome and fun :)

Question
I highly recommend people not go to toQuite BrightSociology
I highly recommend people not go to to this school espically if your an out of state student. I grew up on a college campus and I have spent most of my life in a variety of college settings and UMass is by far the worst college I have ever visited.

The main problem is that the school is very poor; they spend less on their students than what you pay in tuition! They have racked up hundreds of millions in debt on "expanding" the campus by builiding apartments and marching band rooms while neglecting the classrooms, libarires and building upkeep. Most of the classrooms in this school are very old, moldy and lined with dirty floors or cracked walls. The bathrooms are disgusting and often have grafitti or broken sinks. Campus asthestics is a joke; think ugly cement buildings.

The only positive part of the campus are the professors and the diversity of the student body. However this pro is far outweighed by the school's crumbling builidings and extremely poor resources. The library is LOUD, it's constantly crowded and there are no free computers. You spend 30,000 dollars to go to a university and you can't even use the library. The adminstration constantly makes mistakes and programs are constantly being cut. My most recent 3 hour class does not even have enough seats for the students! 20 students every class are forced to stand or sit. And another thing if you come here sign up for the classes the day of registration because they fill up extremely quickly. Umass could have been a great college but every year it keeps getting worst and tuition keeps rising.
