I am a student at Southeastern Louisiana UniversityBrightPsychology
I am a student at Southeastern Louisiana University in the small town of Hammond. The town is cute, slower paced with some bars and a "club" for those who have to party every weekend. Anyway, the school is mediocre. I actually transferred here from Delgado community college. My math classes didn't transfer with me. The main thing that really screwed me up was the fact that I was NEVER informed that transfer students are automatically put on financial aid probation. So when I didn't pass my remedial math class, I was put on financial aid suspension and I couldn't figure out why this was happening. I dealt with this problem for nearly a year. The financial aid staff seem to be completely incompetent. The older woman that is usually behind her desk in the financial aid office always walks out when my husband and I come in. She's often on Facebook, as are the student workers and acts pissed off when she has to do her job. The first math instructor I had stated that "you all probably know this already" our first day in class and never truly taught. I had a 3.3 GPA when I transferred and it quickly dropped to a 2.9. It feels like the rest of the student population are simple nitwits coasting on D's. Which is why there is so much red tape to cross. I've had a few wonderful professors who really enjoyed the subject they were teaching and where exceptionally knowledgeable. Overall, if I had the choice I would not be here. I wouldn't even be in Louisiana if I could afford it. And don't get me started on LSU. What a joke.

This is a greatBrightBusiness - Management and Administration
This is a great school, I am very proud to be a part of it. If people don't do well or if they feel there is no social life it is their own fault. There is a ton of things to do in Hammond and at Southeastern and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Professors are amazing and willing to help.

Question
SLU is a great university with a terrificQuite BrightPreLaw and Legal
SLU is a great university with a terrific staff. My biggest concern is with the financial aid office; it's like a bunch of animals working with computers. SLU is the only university in the STATE that provides a rental book program so you don't have to spend hundreds on books you'll use one semester. I'm so SURPRISED that all the negative comments "forgot" to add that! Everything event related at the school is paid through your tuition including the shuttle bus service (they forgot that too) that rides in and out of the school. I belong to three honor societies (Gamma Beta Phi, Sigma Alpha Lambda and the National Honor Leadership and Success) so there's a lot of extracurricular groups (like Italian Club). I love this school and seeing slandering libelous comments is just unbelievable.
