Really enjoy my 2Quite BrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
Really enjoy my 2 years at Governors State University. There is a lot of Faculty politics, but overall if you take advantage of all the sources offer you will enjoy your staying. It all depends on yourself and how much effort you put to better yourself.

Question
I believe the first two graduate years wereQuite BrightPsychology
I believe the first two graduate years were "throw away" years at GSU, 80% of the courses were not taught, but essentially facilitated to us. Two friends are graduating without ANY confidence that they know how to write "effectively". They dedicate one class to learning how to write, but its not enough. One of the TA teaches one of the most important classes in Psychology, he yawns, smacks his lips, and spits sarcasm at other students! And don't ask him a question around break time because he is a chain smoker so he gets irritable when he can't smoke.

One of my classmates told me that she applied to GSU's psychology program for grad school. She got in easily. The other classmate I know did not. The difference between the two, the latter actually wants to pursue a career in psychology, has research interests..etc. The other just told them what they wanted to hear! We were told the faculty can "read" people when they interview....What a joke! I decided not to apply to GSU in the fall because if they can overlook a student that is an obvious asset, and accept a bunch of ACTORS who will say just about anything to get in, they deserve the rating that they have. It comical...

Not all faculty are bad...but they really need to step their teaching games up...its bad...some are lazy...BTW, the TA that teaches Research Methods need to re-evaluated...he sucks.

Question
The Education Program sets you up for failure.Quite BrightEducation
The Education Program sets you up for failure. They put you in with teachers that are not willing to help or teach you. They don't put you in labs of the grade level that you want to teach. The Professors and Teachers put their personal feelings in front of your quality of work. I feel that I keep throwing money into this University and I'm getting no payback. If fact they are discouraging me to become a teacher. They say I should pick another major, when all I want to be is a teacher.
