The Department of Computer Science is an utter mess. Homework is NOTHING more than busywork intended to give the impression that learning is occuring.

Teachers don't answer questions when asked in class and actually browbeat and criticize student's that don't appear to be getting something professors deem they should.

"Well you should know that already..." are common responses that are never followed up with accurate answers. I've heard multiple teachers actually refer to their students to YouTube or Google to find the answer to questions."WTF is this garbage," is what I was thinking...thousands of dollars per class to be taught by Google? This place should be shut down--and don't think that going to the Department Chair (some foreigner from India) is going to help either. It doesn't. Waste of time and money going here, truthfully you'll end up teaching yourself in the end anyway...so either do that or go to a real university.

This university was so disappointing. The faculty are disengagned and are quite honestly terrible teachers.

I watched a number of students fail courses, or make grades far lower than they should have, because they were unable to get assistance in class when they needed it.

The Computer Science department obviously has a "soft spot" for Indian instructors with thick accidents, which isn't surprising since the Department Chair also falls within that category.

There are a few teachers that are helpful and seem to genuinely enjoy teaching, but they are FEW and FAR BETWEEN at this school.In short, there are far better schools with far better programs - save yourself and attend a more reputable school with a more structured and disciplined department. These teachers do what they want, to whom they want, when they want.

I would NEVER recommend UWF. The program was a busy work joke without preparing for the field. The information UWF gave on employment and income in the field was false. The mistakes and rudeness in so many different administrative, admissions, and financial offices is off the charts rude and wrong. I will never go back to them for further education, nor will any of my family, and I highly advise all to go to a different university.
