Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I went to UWF out of the Navy.Natural Resources
I went to UWF out of the Navy. It was local, decently priced and I didn't have to relocate. The academics at UWF were as demanding as any other school I've attended since. The fact that UWF is a small school was a plus. It had the feel of a pricier private college. But, my time at UWF did not prepare me for the large, state university experience. That is another world altogether. No matter how bright or motivated or driven you were at UWF the transition to a school like Ohio State is fraught with peril. There's a very good reason that you never hear about top flight scientists or business people coming out of such an institution. They strive for mediocrity, not original thinking. If you plan on going to graduate school after UWF, I urge anyone reading this to avoid making that mistake. Find another small school if you can. Preferably one on the semester system. Otherwise you may find yourself adrift in a sea of apathy and manipulative professors interested more in their own reputations than your education.

Question
I like UWF alright.BrightPsychology
I like UWF alright. I've been here almost four years and am finishing up my degrees in anthro and psych. There are a bunch of opportunities here you just have to get involved. It gets a little boring after a while, with the lack of football and true campus athletics, but what is there is good and if you make the most of it you will have fun. It doesn't have the feel of a big state school, but if you are looking for a nice quiet pretty campus this absolutely fits the bill. A word to the wise. Try to live on campus more than just one year. Freshman year is always pretty crummy, but the on campus experience is worth at least 2 years of your time before moving off, the convenience of walking to classes is really nice.If I had to do it all again, I might have gone somewhere else, but I've had lots of good fortune at UWF, and plenty of good memories so I can still highly recommend it to anyone.

Question
UWF is great.Super BrilliantEducation
UWF is great. Because there is no Football or other huge distraction, the accademic quality is quite high. The faculty are excellent and have a vested interest in your sucess. If you live on campus, try to stay in Martin Hall or The Villages. Pace Hall, however, is quite nice.
