The University of Florida is a fantastic, world-classSuper BrilliantIndustrial Operations Engineering
The University of Florida is a fantastic, world-class school that offers something for everyone. It's faculty is its real gem, as many are working with colleagues around the world on impressive research projects.

As for the campus, it is a true beauty built in the collegiate gothic style.
Once you get past the intro courses, the classes are quite small, with an overall faculty-student ratio of 20:1. I would definitely reccomend this university.

I absolutely loved my time at UF and would recommend it to anyone. It is a huge school with a huge sense of pride and community. However, the town is small and can get boring for those used to living in a big city.

Question
A large portion of the students are silver-spoons;Quite BrightPolitical Science
A large portion of the students are silver-spoons; lacking personal character or experience. Most of whom act surprised and fascinated when they discover I grew up around minorities (...wow).

The school prides itself on topping the "best jock schools in the US" the same list that features Yale, Harvard and MIT at the bottom. Fraternities have test banks for most classes, and since a large portion of the test questions are reused a majority of them don't come to class.

Student government is HUGE at UF, but most students will tell you about "Heritage seats" and not to both applying for most SG positions as they are kept 'within the family' of fraternities and sororities. UF administration allows the Greek houses to collectively pool student funds and resources to win nearly every SG election cycle, so the Greek Houses determine student policy every year.

UF cut a computer science program that cost 1.2 million a year and at the same time increase the UF sports budget from 99 million to 101 million!

I would best describe UF as a poorly functioning (to almost non-functioning) bureaucracy that cares only about research and being one of the biggest supporters for Greek houses and not education. They rely heavy on grad students who work for free to teach a large percentage of their classes (even 3000 level 4000 level classes) but 'stand behind' their behavior despite having zero training in education. I had a grad student teacher hit on me, and then drop my grade when I spurred her advances. I went to the department head about it (and administration) both stood behind her grade! (It had only gone down to a B but still!)
