The sociology coursework was generally not challenging (unfortunately). The calculus and chemistry classes I took were much more challenging than I expected. Courses I took in other departments varied (a few political science classes were as challenging as I would expect, in a good way; religion courses were easy).

Question
DO NOT COME HERE.Quite BrightPreMed and Medical
DO NOT COME HERE. This is the worst university in the world. The campus is ugly, the pre-med program is terrible, professors do not teach and test on ridiculous material. Avoid at all costs, you honestly might as well go anywhere else. It's horrible here.

There are definitely opportunities for exploration, innovation, and true learning here...if you know where to find them. Fortunately, I had the privilege of gaining acceptance into the Honors program during my Freshmen year at UF. We have our own advisers that seek to inspire on a one-on-one level; our own elective classes that are small and tight-knit with the professors; an online newsletter called the Honors Daily announcing various activities and guest speakers around campus; etc. This level of engagement has allowed me possibly a more positive college experience than those of many students. Never once have I felt like just a number. While the bureaucracy of the administration is blatant, and while the university may not facilitate the "Church of Reason" (to quote Robert Pirsig) in all aspects, I have never felt cheated here. If you have a curiosity and sense of wonder, you will learn at UF. But you must actively pursue that learning rather than expect the administration to facilitate it for you. Get involved. Pay attention to those fliers, those enormous banners, those club tables - they're all opportunities.
