Pcc is not for everyone.PreLaw and Legal
Pcc is not for everyone. Please go there to visit on a day other than College Days. I recieved excellent education, and an excellent disciplined lifestyle from PCC. To be totally truthful, I work in a very large firm and the rules that are at PCC, carried right over into my job....dress standards, no touching policy, being on time and even being early to work, meetings, trade fairs etc...not using certain doors, having an id card to get into buildings..the list goes on forever. There is a reason for everything in life. I am so thankful, after I visited many Public university campuses/dorms, that I was saved from having to put up with the sometime vulgar practices that they had to offer.

Also, you can get into a public university, (transfer, or grad school) you just have to work extra hard at it. Remember, often the harder you work, the more appreciative you may be!!! God Bless you on your search, and may many hours of prayer and heart searching be put into your choice....

Question
I feel that PCC helped prepare me toDesign Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
I feel that PCC helped prepare me to be disciplined, motivated and basicly as prepared as one could be straight out of college. Becasue serouisly if you're really honest your true education starts after school and on the job. (However, that would only apply for those who really worked hard at getting a really job, not those who are lazy and expected to find something easy and when they didn't they blame their former school) Pcc was very difficult at times, but just suck it up and work hard and get out on time.

Question
The training I received in art at PCCArt & Design Department
The training I received in art at PCC was incredible. My technical skills improved tremendously under the direction of the art faculty. I have a couple of criticisms, nonetheless. One is that they do not allow for personal exploration/discovery in anyone's artwork. Every student must paint with extreme realism and must conform to their ideas of what art is and is not. There is no freedom at all for expression. Fortunately for me I wanted to study this style of art so it wasn't a problem. The other thing is that Art History Class was a bit ridiculous as all the slides they show of great sculpture, paintings, etc. have big black boxes over all the "un-PCC approved areas". The Michaelangelo's statue of David was one of many of the significantly blocked pieces of artwork.

As far as the rest of the real world, PCC did not prepare me for any of it. They teach you how to be an unquestioning, mouse-like employee and not about how to survive and succeed in the world or business. They teach you nothing of how to assert yourself, think outside of the box, or any other vitally important skills in business and life in general.
