If you are considering PCC, listen!BrightMechanical Engineering
If you are considering PCC, listen! I know it's in Florida, I know there are beaches, cheap tuition, and strong academics in a Christian atmosphere. The perfect college for a young Christian with limited finances, right? That's what lured me there. If you come from a school where you are respected and trusted to do what's right, realize you will NEVER earn the faculty's trust. It's a 4 year audition to see when and where you'll screw up. The rules are so out of this world, you'll NEED to get your eyes on them to see what I'm saying. Reasonable people do not mesh with PCC. Individual thought is banned, and I am NOT exaggerating. Disagreeing with the faculty is banned as well, unless you SHUT UP and SMILE. If you can grin and bear it, and put on a show for 4 years, you could survive, but WHY would you want to? Be real with people, don't hide who you are. Interact, and as your flaws are revealed, LEARN from them, don't hide them for 4 years. It's unhealthy. This college considers its' policies to be as inerrant as the Word of God. The arrogance is so repugnant, it's unbelievable. The student body is crawling with clones that will turn you in. This place is scary. DO NOT GO. I went for 3 semesters, and only had 7 demerits in the first semester, and roughly 30 in each of the last 2. I could have played the game, but there is NO REWARD for lingering and becoming so BITTER from that place. Three semesters was too much for me, and Christians should not be subject to this atrocious place. Make other plans, you'll NEVER know how fortunate you are for going somewhere other than PCC.

Question
PCC was and is in many ways aCriminal
PCC was and is in many ways a very good school. In my major the teachers, with one notable exception, performed at the highest levels of the departments and professions. One was in the Secret Service for over 20 years and on 5 Details, one was a LTC in the Military Police, one was te top investigator for the Michigan State Police Sex Crimes Unit, one was had been an Assistant DA and I regartd him as possibly one of the smartest people I knew there, one was involved for his professional career in parole and probation, while I find that boring he was very good at it. These men provided invaluable assistance and insight into the Law Enforcement profession. The only problem I have with the faculty is that they seem to no longer be as good as when I was first there, of course that could just be nostalgia. Academically, I was only pressured in 2 classes, Latin, Dynamics of Human Behavior (Mr. Goehring is quite simply a brilliant man) although Rules of Evidence came close. I don't know if that is because I was smart or the material was too easy. I respected and admired my instructors. The standard complaints at PCC revolve around the rules, however if you have read the material they send you before going there, you know what the rules will be. Moreover, the deans office is not out to get you. Speaking, well, writing, from a very informed point of view, they simply don't have the time or resources. I worked as a floorleader, and I was not hated thank you very much, and I can assure anyone that the deans office has only the students best interests at heart. Are some of the rules difficlt to handle, certainly, however that is true no matter where you go. I have said that the school did not prepare me for the workworls, that is true and yet in many ways it did. My academic life did not so much but the two jobs I held during college were very helpful. The preaching at this school is almost always superb although there are some sermons that are wrong and indeed boring. PCC is not for everyone, however if you have any questions I will be glad to answer as best I can. And yes to all those trying to guess who this is, if you haven't figured it out I am very surprised.

Question
I would say that PCC is not forAverageNursing
I would say that PCC is not for everyone. PCC has rules that are not always agreeable. Most of the rules have a good reason for beeing there. Even some of the faculty do not agree with all the rules, but they say the rules are there to keep unity in the College. College people are always pushing the limits to see how far they can take the rules. Well, if the rules are set high enough the poeple can not push the limits enough to cause themselves or someone else to sin. PCC's goal is to allow each student to go to bed every night with a clear conscience. The rules allow for that to happen. While I was there for my four years in the nursing program I had to contually remind myself that God has a purpose for me to be there. I also focused on the great education that I was receiving at PCC. I would not trade my education for anything. PCC has equipped me with the skills that I needed to do well in nursing. Surviving through the rules was a very small price to pay for what they had given me. I have and still would reccommmend PCC to perspective NURSING students because of the education they will equip you with to be the best possible nurse. I may not agree with all the rules, but it is only 4 years. If I can do it, anyone can live through PCC.
