Pensacola Christian College is a place for peopleBrightBiology
Pensacola Christian College is a place for people to go if they are used to being degraded, and treated like a child as an adult. First, you can't leave campus by yourself until your 21 or a Senior. Second, you are treated as a prisoner, and more than once I got in trouble for walking with a guy 20 feet away from the "Approved" spot. People are judgmental, and most of the time it felt like I was living in a different era. They require you to go to church and chapel everyday, as well as different meetings. Because of this, and the mandatory curfew at 11, you hardly have any time to study. And if you are caught studying after 11, you are considered a cheater, and dealt with as such.

The dress code is horrible, and I got in trouble for wearing a denim jacket, and was required to go and change before I could go to lunch. So I had to walk all the way across campus to my dorm, and then back to the dining hall before I could eat. You aren't aloud to talk to the same gender while in the library. You can't wear jeans, even in the dorm rooms. Shorts and tank tops can not be worn in the hallways of the dorms.

You can't listen to music other than PCC's Rejoice! or bookstore approved music. You can only go to the PCC beach, which ironically is a gay beach. (At least for the women.) IN my experience, PCC made me HATE religion, rules, skirts, and it didn't make me smarter. I hardly had time to study with all the ridiculous rules they had. I did have a good biology lab instructor, and biology instructor who wanted to see students learn, but even then they were hard to access and get a hold of.

Question
I received a high quality education at PCC,Quite BrightNursing
I received a high quality education at PCC, and went on to attend graduate school and complete a master's degree. Clinical experiences prepared me to be an excellent nurse. I had to study more than friends who were not in the nursing program. I didn't have much of a social life due to always being in the library or at the hospital, but that is, after all, why I was in college. There was never an issue with (lack of) accredidation for me, either when taking NCLEX, being accepted to graduate school, or being hired as nursing faculty at the college (not PCC) where I have taught for 8 years now.

Yes, of course there were the rules. There is always mention of rules when one talks about PCC. Do I embrace every PCC rule as my personal moral standard? No, I do not, but that doesn't mean I find no place for rules in a student body. I viewed them as my job, a committment I made in exchange for an excellent and reasonably priced education. White glove cleaning, required events, and dress codes didn't hurt me one bit; in fact I feel better prepared to act professionally in the real world because of being held to a high standard.

Question
I am a graduate of the business program.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I am a graduate of the business program. I have never been able to obtain the graduate degree that I desire because PCC was not accredited. My parents sent me to PCC because they were dedicated Christians and thought that the school would encourage me in my faith. It did the opposite. My most vivid memory is being called to the office of the Dean of Women. It had come to her attention that I was dating an African American man (I am white). She told me that the school couldn't legally outlaw interracial dating, but that the administration did not approve. I will strongly discourage my own children from attending this college.
