Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Overall, I had both a challenging and greatNursing
Overall, I had both a challenging and great experience at PCC. Although the rules were strict and the standards high, those were okay for me at that time in life. I'm older now and a little wiser, therefore, I make better judgment calls. As teens and away from home, students need that "shelter" to keep away from trouble. Being in that type of environment helped me focus on my education. I was still able to balance a social life. However, the classes were tough, and the clinicals even tougher. As far as the nursing program is concerned, they really need to be more lenient with the criticl points system. I'm an RN now and am around nursing students constantly from local schools, and they have never been through or even heard of critical points received for mistakes; but yet those nurses are fine on the field once they graduate.

Question
The Gospel teaches that we are accepted byBusiness - Management and Administration
The Gospel teaches that we are accepted by God because of Christ's work. My experience at PCC is contrary to that. Rules are a part of everyday life and I understand that colleges/universities must have some structure in place. However, PCC's rule structure creates fear and denies Biblical Christian freedom. Students are not treated as made in the image of God, but sexualized children who cannot be trusted. They do not teach Biblical relationships or gender roles. They do not have a strong Bible program.

If you plan on getting into grad school after PCC, prepare for problems. I went onto an accredited seminary a few years after I graduated and have applied to several Universities and have been denied admission because of my undergraduate degree.

An accredited degree is important despite what you hear from PCC. The government does not offer accreditation, but private organizations made up of administratiors/educational professionals. There are even Christian accreditation bodies! The fact that PCC does not submit to anything like this shows the arrogance that you will see daily there as a student. The administration believes they are accountable to no one, but God. This is dangerous. Scripture teaches the need for Christians to be under submission to others. You will not find that at PCC.

You will find rules, rules and more rules that have little to no Biblical basis. You will find faculty who care, but are ill-equipped for their duties. You will find administrators who will not discipline students in love. You will find friends and fun, but do not be decieved by the beautiful buildings. Is money is an indication of God's blessing, Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy, shouldn't be a part of a multi-billion dollar empire.
