My years at Pensacola Christian College were someEducation
My years at Pensacola Christian College were some of the best of my life. The professors were willing to help me on a personal basis when I needed it. The student body was friendly and I made Christian friends that I still depend on today over ten years later. The most important advice that I can give a prospective student is to pray over your college decision. You are now an adult, graduate from H.S. the decision that you make should be one that you prayed over and sought counsel over, but ultimately make for yourself. I was always disgutsted by the "adults" on campus that were only there because Mommy and Daddy "made" them come. As my old pastor used to say "Buck Up, Skippy!". Make your own choices!

Question
I learned a lot both academically and spirituallyComputer Science
I learned a lot both academically and spiritually from Pensacola Christian College. I think it is an excellent school that has rules and standards for a reason. You will have rules the rest of your life whether you like them or not - your real character is how you choose to follow the rules of your life. I would highly recommend this school to any one who is serious about making something of themselves and wanting to please God in all that they do.

Question
The Graphic Design/Advertising (with a minor in e-Business)Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
The Graphic Design/Advertising (with a minor in e-Business) degree at Pensacola Christian College has greatly helped me now that I am out in the field. I have a complete knowledge of the most recent graphic computer programs (like Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator). I also have a sound knowledge of fundamental design concepts, which have helped me build a solid understanding of more complex design situations. I rememeber doing my internship when I was a junior at PCC with a Biblical Theme park called The Holy Land Experience in Orlando, FL. The art director at the time told me that she did not expect me to have any real understanding of design becaue I came from a "Christian College." When she saw the work that I produced she was astonded that a "junior level" student with no previous exprience was producing what I created. She highly recommended me and PCC.

Additionally, I would advise any prospective student who wants to pursue Graphic Design to start learning Adobe Creative Suite now! Also begin focusing on everyday design, like bilboards, magazines, Advertisements (they are everywhere). Note what you like and dislike and why.

When you begin art classes at PCC, you may feel as if the intermediate work is simple and even studpid, but memorize those early concepts and apply them to everything you do in college and in life. The most basic and simple truths are the fundamentals that produce the best work.

You may feel as if you can't "do what you feel or want" but with time in the major, you will be given the opportunity to create something from start to finish and you will surprise yourself with your ablilites (learned from the basics back in your first year). I remember being stuck on a project at work, and I had to remind myself to start off with the first steps of the "Design Process."

Anyway, if you have anymore questions, about this major, let me know. Also, if you have questions about rules. Read the "Things to Know" book. That tells you everything you need in a nutshell.

Relax, college is the best time in your life. And if you want to glorify God in all you do, and you want to grow spiritually, you cannot go to ANY college to get that or do anything to accomplish that. You must grow from within, from your heart. Pensacola Christian College enabled me to feel at home in my spirituality with people that believed the same way I believe and wanted to encourage me. I came from a Public High School, and struggled to glorify God daily. When I wanted to to study in college, I didn't want the pressure of the world and my studies to overwhelm me. I wanted my peers to help me. You can get that peace of mind by attending PCC. Not everything is perfect, but nobody is perfect. Remember that!

My last thoughts:

Think for yourself and don't pick up other peoples battles, you have your own problems to deal with. Encourage people, but don't fight for people.

The education you will receive at PCC both spiritually and academically is most rewarding. There will be road blocks and situations you will not agree with, but frankly, THAT'S LIFE! PCC will prepare you for many job situation and many work situation in life.

Most of all, be strong in the Lord!Monica
